No One Axe Kicks an Axe Murderer… NO ONE!

Have you ever tried to prank a prankster? Or joke a jokester? Yeah… you think you got the best of them when you pulled off something awesome, like the old fake fly in the ice cube, or you hid there stapler so they can’t staple papers…. Yeah you showed them! They then return the favor in a much more brutal fashion to the point where you think twice about payback. So why in God’s name would you try to axe kick Wanderlei “the Axe Murderer” Silva? This guy did and payed the consequences in sparring. Just SPARRING. I can’t imagine if it were in the cage or in the streets, I am pretty sure the guy would be dead. It occurs roughly around 1:33 for you impatient people…

If you were going to try anything to an axe murder, I say take the Charlie Mackenzie route, and marry them.

Metal Mulisha - A Layzie The Savage Joint

It feels like yesterday, I was watching Elite XC in Hawaii when Noons had just won his match against Yves and in comes Nick and Nate walking in the cage saying “Dont Be Scared, Homie” and flinging a water bottle at Noons dad. This started a small melee and a gang of security guards surround the cage later defusing the situation. I never thought I would see KJ Noons and Nick Diaz on the same highlight reel but I did thanks to Layzie the Savage, who just puts out good work every time. Here is the Metal Mulisha highlight featuring Gilbert Melendez, Babalu Sobral, KJ Noons, and Nick Diaz.

Enjoy this highlight, homie

Mark “Fight Shark” Miller

I know I am not the only person that this happens to, you are sitting in a bar or your car and a song comes on that you have heard before but just have absolutely no idea who sings or when it came out. Thank God for technology and shit like shazam you can find out in an instant. Mark Miller was kind of like that song that I had seen but had absolutely no idea who he was or what he did. That changed in about a week and honestly it’s just an amazing story. I am a little late with the news but definitely still worth posting but ill let Liverkick.com fill you in:

If you don’t know Miller you are missing out, not only missing out on an incredible story of overcoming the odds and facing a lot of tough competition, you are missing out on an incredible talent and a great guy. Mark is the first fighter to ever stage a comeback after open heart surgery. I’m not kidding you. Check out the trailer to his upcoming documentary about his trials and tribulations as well as his comeback. After his comeback fight it will be a wrap on the film and it’ll be released, telling his awesome story to the world.

His opponent is stiff competition in Nikolaj Falin, who many should know as the fighter who competed in the first round of the GLORY World Series against Gokhan Saki. If you saw that fight you know that he is no slouch at all and will absolutely be game competition for the man who was once talking with Kazuyoshi Ishii about being the American face of K-1 with both men in agreement that he was the future for American kickboxing.

This fight goes down May 28th at the Ultimate GLORY World Series final round as a K-1 Heavyweight Superfight. This fight will be huge for Miller and in the world of fighting this is absolutely a first as a fighter returns from open heart surgery and is doing so in tip-top shape.

This is definitely a fight I won’t be missing and you peeps shouldn’t either. Here is the trailer for “Fight Shark” in case you haven’t seen it.

A Joe Rogan Fight That You Probably Have Not Seen

In lue of my Sunday morning laziness waiting for a sporting event to come on, I find myself, once again, constantly searching for random videos on Youtube to pass the time. This one I found in a rare compilation of MMA fails. I necessarily didn’t see it as a fail on Andy Dicks part, but much rather Joe Rogan’s part. If I was the host of Fear Factor, a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and a brown belt under Eddie Bravo in BJJ, I am certainly positive that I could kick anyones ass that wanted to scrap with me, buuuutttttt I am not.

At least I know that if I ever get into a fight with Joe Rogan, he has horrible tickle takedown defense.

My random flip of a coin Bellator 39 picks

Thats right, you guessed it… I have my lucky 1974 shiny silver quarter that determined my picks once again. At UFC 128 - it went 8-3 which I am sure did better than half of the human population. Now it is time for Bellator literally before it starts so here we go.

  MAIN CARD

  • Champ Eddie Alvarez vs. Pat Curran - Alvarez
  • Lyman Good vs. Rick Hawn - Good
  • Patricky “Pitbull” Freire vs. Toby Imada - Imada
  • Ben Saunders vs. Matt Lee - Saunders

There you go, enjoy the show and lets hope that quarter goes 4-0 or else I might have to have that stray cat that walks on my grass to start picking fights for me.

P.S. you can head over to MMA Diehards and check out a live stream or follow @MMADiehards for live updates.

Wanderlei Silva is a Brazilian mixed martial artist, who has competed in Pride and the UFC. His style includes engaging opponents with punches, knees, and what used to be epic soccer kicks. “AKA New Training Facility, Thanks Shoot Media!”

I can’t imagine how much work goes into building new facilities from scratch. With the planning, purchasing, and time with every little piece of equipment. The first thing I relate to is when you move into your first new apartment or house with loads of boxes and the Jefferson’s theme music playing in the background. Thanks to Shoot Media, you can get a glimpse of what it takes to do exactly that. The new facility location and info can be found here. AKA

Watch Vinny Magalhaes fight on M-1 Card

I solely remember watching TUF 8 and just thinking to myself, what the hell is Junie Browning going to do this episode? I think that was the problem with that season. It was overshadowed by stupidity, pranks, drunkenness, and pissing in fighters fruit. Now that I typed that last sentence, I think that was almost every year of TUF. Its built for drama to draw numbers for the UFC, do I still watch it? Yes, but I usually fast forward every time the fighters are in the house. I just want to know who the fighter is and some of the training regimes that the coaches teach so I could implement that in my routine. One of the guys I was rooting for to win was Vinny simply for his Jiu Jitsu. Did it happen? No, he lost to Ryan Bader but he was given another chance. He then faced Eliot Marshall and went down again and was dismissed. I have tried to follow him after his UFC stint but it has just been hard to keep track of any fighter that fights outside of Zuffa unless you attend a live show. I think that Vinny should definitely be considered being brought back after his current 3 fight win streak. Hopefully he makes it 4 in a row after he fights on April 28th in Russia on the M-1 Global card.  It won’t be on showtime , but you can watch it live on M-1 Global. I wonder what Junie Browning is up to these days?

*Edit*

Someone asked me who is Vinny Magalhaes? If for some reason you do not have Google, Bing, or even the internet but still happen to read this and ask me who Vinny Magalhaes is. Here he is.

*Edit Again*

I had to make sure that I spelled his last name correctly. I did and this Edit was unnecessary.

“BJJ Match up of the Week: Rodrigo Medeiros vs Kenny Florian”

This was a vintage gem that I found looking for classic Kenny Florian quotes (don’t ask me why). Rodrigo Medeiros (BJJ Revolution Team) vs Kenny Florian (Gracie Barra Boston / UFC Veteran) in a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu match. Believe Kenny was a high ranking PURPLE at time video was shot. Classic matchup between one of Brazil’s best BJJ athletes vs one of America’s from back in the day. I’ll spare you the Ben Stiller jokes for Ken Flo so I have more material to write in the future. Plus, I have always thought Ken Flo kind of looked like the Fonz anyways. Heeeeeeeyyyyyyy!
